Leeks

Leeks

I’m not ready yet!

A sweet and hearty ingredient, leeks are an essential ingredient in comfort food. With a deep and subtle flavour reminiscent of onion and garlic, they can be used in a plethora of ways. When cooked, leeks soften and sweeten, making them perfect for stews and casseroles. They have a delicate profile and can be paired well with other vegetables for soups. Caramelised leeks add sweetness to a vast array of dishes, including pastas, savoury tarts and more.

To pick:

The size of a leek indicates when it is ready to eat. Look for a sizeable leek and gently pull the plant from the ground. If you prefer, you can use a trowel to carefully dig them up. It is best to pick a leek the day you plan to eat it for maximum freshness.

I took a minimum of 120 days to be ready for harvest!

Please be mindful that this garden is a shared space.

Kindly only pick what you will consume at the time of harvest.
