Asparagus

Asparagus

I am ready to pick!

Renowned for its delicate flavour and elegant appearance, asparagus is a foodie favourite. Providing an understated earthiness to any dish, whether it is the star ingredient or a trustworthy accompaniment, asparagus pairs well with risottos, quiches and salads. The key to enjoying asparagus lies in its preparation. Gently remove the fibrous ends, leaving the tender part of the stalk. We recommend cooking methods which preserve its natural crispness. This includes steaming, whilst roasting enriches its natural flavours.

To pick:

Knowing when asparagus is ready to pick involves looking for certain identifiers. Size wise, asparagus spears should be around 15cm long. In terms of thickness, the spears should be somewhat thicker than a pencil. Using a sharp knife, cut the asparagus below soil level.

I took a minimum of 2 years to be ready for harvest!

Kindly only pick what you will consume at the time of harvest.
