Ivy Leaved Violet

Ivy leaved violet

Viola hederacea

Aboriginal Name: Warrabira

The Ivy-Leaved Violet has been traditionally used as a preventative medicine against arthritis. The flowers and leaves have been eaten by indigenous communities who regard the leaves as having superior medicinal qualities. The leaves are a source of vitamins A and C and, when applied topically, act as an emollient for the skin, relieving inflammation.
